Suzuki Burgman Electric – Next-Gen Electric Scooter with 150 km Range & ₹1.15 Lakh

The Suzuki Burgman Electric is Suzuki’s first electric scooter for the Indian market. It is based on the popular Suzuki Burgman Street 125 but powered by an all-electric motor instead of a petrol engine. The company aims to target urban commuters who want stylish design, premium features, and zero-emission riding. Since the Burgman Street already has a maxi-scooter design, its electric version feels futuristic and practical. This scooter is mainly built for city rides, short commutes, and eco-friendly users who want to save fuel costs while enjoying comfort.

Design and Styling

The Burgman Electric carries forward the same maxi-scooter look as the petrol version. It comes with a sharp front apron, LED headlamps, LED tail lamps, and a tall windscreen. The scooter looks wide and premium, which makes it stand out from regular scooters. The floorboard is flat, offering enough space for luggage or bags. The seat is broad and comfortable for both rider and pillion. Its unique blue accents and EV-specific badging help differentiate it from the petrol Burgman. Overall, the Burgman Electric looks modern and stylish, perfect for urban youth.

Motor and Battery Performance

Instead of an engine, the Burgman Electric uses an electric motor paired with a lithium-ion battery pack. Reports suggest that it will offer a top speed of around 75 km/h, which is sufficient for city traffic. The range is expected to be 80–90 km on a full charge, making it suitable for daily office and college commutes. Charging time may take 4–5 hours with a regular charger and under 2 hours with a fast charger. The motor provides instant torque, so the scooter feels quick at traffic signals and during overtakes.

Riding Comfort and Practicality

The Burgman Electric is designed with practicality in mind. It offers a wide and soft seat, upright handlebar, and a comfortable riding position, making it easy for riders of all ages. The suspension setup includes telescopic forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear, ensuring stability on bumpy city roads. With 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels, the scooter feels nimble in traffic. The under-seat storage is spacious enough for a helmet and other essentials. Combined with its lightweight body, it becomes a perfect daily-use scooter.

Features and Technology

Suzuki has equipped the Burgman Electric with several modern features. It comes with a fully digital instrument cluster that may support Bluetooth connectivity, call/SMS alerts, and turn-by-turn navigation. The scooter could also get USB charging ports for mobiles, keyless ignition, and regenerative braking to improve range. LED lighting all around gives it a premium touch. Since it’s an EV, Suzuki may also introduce a dedicated smartphone app to monitor battery status, range left, and nearest charging stations. These features make the Burgman Electric future-ready.
